“A Tennis Celebration Honoring Marsha Day & Other MTG Champions”

**The newly revamped Marsha Day tournament is here!  **

The newly renamed “Marsha Day” event is now a team tennis event that heralds camaraderie and family tennis  Social and competitive tennis at its best!

Location:  Carey Leeds Center For Tennis & Learning

Dates/Times: Saturday, September 8^th & Sunday September 9^th from 10AM to 6PM (Finals: Sunday night 6-8PM)

Format/Scoring:  World Team Tennis rules (two singles matches, two doubles matches…no mixed doubles)

# of Teams, # of Players and match times:  To be determined based on registrations.

Team Composition:    Mixture of beginner, intermediate and advanced players. Teams selected by the event organizers based on registrations.

-Each team will play the other teams throughout the course of the day on Saturday and Sunday; all players will have the opportunity to play singles and doubles; each team will decide for itself who plays which match and when); those team players not in action can help with coaching and cheering their team players; players can also roam the grounds and go to other matches and “scout”; or head to the downstairs lounge for food and refreshment and social engagement.

-Matches are strictly timed.  If after the allotted match time has been reached, scores will be recorded 'as is'.

-Scores will be tallied/tabulated on Global Tennis Network software by each team; highest scoring two teams will advance to final match which will be played at the premier Stadium Court for everyone to watch and cheer!

-The teams with the highest scores by 6PM on Sunday will advance to the finals match, which will be played at the premier outdoor stadium at Carey Leeds!  All other teams will be invited to sit in the stadium seats to cheer on the finalists and the final matches!

-The champion team and the finalist team will be celebrated at a trophy presentation held at our holiday party in December!

Cost:  $125 per player, includes a BIG APPLE TEAM TENNIS T-Shirt.

-On the main floor is a huge LCD screen that will be broadcasting the US Open finals!  All players not in action can congregate in the lobby and watch US Open finals matches together! 

-Food & Drink will be provided.

-Transportation/Carpooling to be arranged based on registrants who volunteer to assist and accommodate.
