Why did you join the board, and what are you looking to accomplish for MTG?

In the early 1990s, I joined MTG to expand my tennis opportunities, seeking both playing partners and potential students as a certified teaching pro. The league provided a dynamic platform for forming friendships and tennis partnerships.

My tennis journey began in 1986 when I moved to the US from the Philippines. Starting at the Prospect Park Tennis Center, I honed my skills by playing with locals and receiving coaching from teaching pros. I became certified at the Hilton Head Tennis Academy and intermittently taught tennis and rose to the Open division in tournaments, consistently ranking in the top ten seeds at GLTA events. Alongside captaining USTA teams, my husband and I organized tennis tournaments in Miami before rejoining MTG upon our return to NYC in 2006.

I've been in he financial sector for 30 years and held roles in Accounting, Finance, and Operations. As VP of Operations at Decoded Advertising and a part of WPP handling North America for Colgate Palmolive, I contributed to significant company growth. Additionally, I am a USPTA certified teaching pro and co-own a medical consultation company, overseeing contracts and accounting alongside my husband, Dr. Russell Rising. On the MTG board, I aim to enhance the tennis experience and foster community engagement.
