Winter Doubles League, 2021-22

Winter Doubles League 2021 / 2022 

The annual Winter Doubles League is finally back and will be starting soon! All levels are welcome to compete, and any two players can enter as partners, regardless of gender.  Divisions will be created based on playing level of the pairs.

Start Date: November 7, 2021

End Date: March 27, 2022

Match Times: (Matches will be held on Sundays)

Due to different court availability than in past years, there will be three different match start times: 6:30pm, 8pm & 8:30pm.

Each pair will get a mixture of times.

There will be no league play on these dates, due to either holidays or unavailability of courts at NTC:  11/28, 12/26, 1/2, 1/9, 1/16 (that's 4 consecutive weeks off!), and 2/20. 

Location:  Billie Jean King National Tennis Center

There will be an awards presentation party at the end of the season

The fee for each player for the entire season is $189 with each doubles team playing a total of seven (7) matches. That's only $27 per match. 

As in USTA, each match is 2-of-3 sets, with a SuperTiebreak in lieu of a third set, with a 2-hour time limit (including a 10 minute warm-up).  

If you don't have a partner, the coordinators will be happy to pair you with a player of similar playing level.

Registration

Registration, Payment and Scores/Standings will be managed through the GLTA Tournament Software website.  For administrative reasons, we are taking registrations here on the MTG site (and we will transfer the information so you don't have to do it twice).

  You may request up to 3 "unavailable" dates. Each pair will also be granted one reschedule of a match after the season's schedule has been posted. You can also request having some double-header matches (playing at 6:30pm and 8:30pm on the same night) to reduce trips to NTC.  We'll post more details on the WDL homepage on the GLTA site once we have that set up.

National Tennis Center Requirements

(1) All players must have a player profile in the NTC player database BEFORE SHOWING UP FOR THEIR FIRST LEAGUE MATCH.  If you are not already registered, go to :  https://app.courtreserve.com/Online/Portal/CreateAccountAndRequestAccessToOrg/5881 

(2) Be prepared to show proof of Covid vaccination at your first match. NTC staff will update your player profile so you don't have to show it each time.

(3) All players must complete a Patron Waiver before arriving for each match. The waiver is here:  https://www.ntc.usta.com/PatronWaiver
