Meet the Board of Directors
Who are the Board of Directors?
The MTG Board is a group of volunteers dedicated to the mission of MTG as an LGBTQ+ tennis group. Our two main purposes are a) to foster a sense of community by promoting tennis and tennis-related events and b) to serve as an alternative social forum for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) communities. We meet once a month and members are welcome to attend board meetings and those considering joining the MTG Board are encouraged. Contact us for details.
What is the minimum term limit for each Board member and when are they elected?
The board members are elected for a two (2) year term, running from September 1st through August 31st by a membership vote held in August. If you are interested in a position that is up for election, please submit a Letter of Intent, or a few brief paragraphs, for the position you are seeking no later than August 17th to the Secretary. Contact us to get in touch with the Secretary.
Are Board members permitted to have assistants/committees?
Any board member, with the approval of the majority of the Board of Directors, may elect to form a committee to assist him/her in the execution of the tasks required for his/her position. Board members will remain accountable and responsible for those tasks delegated to other individuals. If you are interested in joining a committee, please contact us.
