Having played for the NYC Parks Department in my youth, I developed a strong passion for tennis. At the Dave & Buster’s Jockathon event in 2009, I joined MTG since it seemed a great social forum to fulfill my passion and meet other members who shared a similar passion and belonged to the LGBTQ+ community.
Since MTG depends on the voluntary participation of its members for all activities and events, the members are vital to its success. Having volunteered, I have found the experience to be both challenging and rewarding. I have also been fortunate to have been embraced by some wonderful people in this group. Based on these experiences, I believe MTG has tremendous potential and I would love to assist in attaining these aspirations by becoming the Membership Director. As I strive to attain these lofty goals, I will never lose sight of the fact or take for granted that such a group exists which allows for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBTQ+) tennis fans to share their passion by playing recreational and competitive tennis.
While there are a myriad of reasons why people elect to join MTG, my intentions as Membership Director would be to foster the development of our member’s talents, social activities, and more. I will strive to make MTG a nurturing environment to improve one another’s game and social experience. I will aim to create a fun and competitive environment while being receptive to implementing changes.
I hope to bring my creativity, talents, and professionalism to the Membership Director position to enhance the membership experience for everyone.
