MTG Summer Ladder: Play More, Climb Higher

The MTG Summer Ladder is back—ready to turn your “I’ll just rally” plans into a full-blown ranking obsession. This flexible singles league lets players set their own matches, explore courts across the tri-state, and log results all summer long. Win when you can, chase who you must—and come September, the top 8 players in each division advance to playoffs to battle it out for the title.

    Eligibility & Registration

    • Who Can Play: Active MTG members only (yes, this is your sign)

    • Registration: After registering, an email invite will be sent to join the ladder hosted on Global Tennis Network

    • Rolling Admission: Join at any point during the season—commitment is flexible, your record is not

    Season Structure

    • Season Dates: April 15, 2026 → September 7, 2026

    • Playoffs: Top 8 players in each division qualify for September playoffs to determine the champions

    • Weekly Match Limit: Up to 3 matches per week count toward standings

    • Weekly Window: Each playing week runs Sunday → Saturday

    Match Play & Format

    • How Matches Work: Coordinate with opponents, agree on time/place/format, play, then log scores online like it absolutely mattered

    • Flexible Match Formats (because public courts keep everyone humble)

      • Pro set to 8 games (tiebreak at 7–7)

      • Best of 3 sets (final set = full set or tiebreak)

    Levels & Placement

    • Divisions

      • Intermediate → Advanced (NTRP 3.5+)

      • Beginner (NTRP 3.0 and below)

    • Placement Method: Based on NTRP rating in your MTG profile. Not Sure Your Rating? Use NTRP guidelines and videos or ask

    Communication & Coordination

      • WhatsApp group for actually getting matches schedule
      • Global Tennis Network messaging (for those with patience and strong follow-up skills)
      • For more details, visit the MTG Summer Ladder page
